Finishing Drills: Aiming for Bullseyes

The Finishing card states: Just finish! Hitting the target is worth more. While simply putting the ball in the net awards 100 points for a standard Goal, the scoring jumps significantly when you aim for the target rings placed inside the goal frame. Hitting the outer Target awards 250 points, and striking the center Bullseye awards 350 points.

Because one Bullseye (350 points) is worth three and a half basic goals (100 points each), rushing through Finishing drills with careless center shots will slow down your progress. Take an extra moment to place the end of your drawn line directly on the center of the target ring.

Passing Drills: Long Balls and Assists

The Passing drill card instructs you to: Find difficult passes: long balls, through the lines and assists. Instead of target rings inside a net, Passing evaluates the difficulty and outcome of your distribution. A Hard pass awards up to 150 points, and completing an Assist adds +100 points.

To maximize your score here, look beyond the closest easy pass option when multiple teammates are visible. The menu lists Hard pass points up to 150 and Assist +100. Whether these stack in every sequence remains unverified, so read the score awarded after each attempt.

Set Pieces: Free Kicks and Corners

Set Pieces uses the same point tiers as Finishing: Goal is worth 100, Target is worth 250, and Bullseye is worth 350. The card description reads: Corners and free kicks: score any way you like, the target is worth more.

For set-piece practice, read the current prompt and locate the target before drawing. The menu includes corners and free kicks, but the reviewed screen does not establish a separate curve input or a fixed sequence for every corner. Aim toward a visible target when the drill offers one and check the result after the attempt.

Practical Advice: Which Drill Should You Pick First?

  1. Start with Finishing or Set Pieces if you want the highest single-shot point ceiling: Both drills award 250 points for a Target and 350 points for a Bullseye, making them very rewarding once you can place your line endpoint accurately.
  2. Pick Passing if you are losing matches on CROSS or THROUGH BALL prompts: Because match scenarios often require zero misses across multiple play types, practicing long balls and passes through the lines helps prevent costly turnovers in cup fixtures.
  3. Balance all three categories over time: Since each discipline holds four +1 boxes toward the 12 total Training OVR points, you will eventually want to progress through Finishing, Passing, and Set Pieces rather than leaving one category empty.
